Karaoke Poetry Bar is a multimodal installation which combines poetry, performance and video. Visual artists and poets are involved in the project which is based on the idea of reversal, i.e. of changing the function of a “place”, transforming it into a generator of possibilities, a playground of ideas. Participant artists and visitors are thus involved in the possibility of utopia. Karaoke Poetry Bar is a real although temporary karaoke bar where pop songs on the stage monitor, have been replaced by poems written by Greek poets who have emerged within the last 10 years. During recitation, the poems await to be challenged by the audacity and the intentions of the audience.
Within the same space, video works by contemporary Greek artists will be presented in a video installation. The video works are documentations of performances in public spaces around
In Karaoke Poetry Bar, the exposure of artists and visitors to the recitation of poetry is intended as a metaphor for the artistic act itself. Because to approach art is to abandon the safety of the plot, the expectation for “meaning” and, ultimately, the demand for function.

Intothepill is not the site of a collective but, rather, an attempted conjugation that vibrates incessantly with doubt: the only safe recourse of the poetic act.
Those inside the pill send out their unintelligible signals in their personal idiolects and sometimes, they intersect, discuss, translate and exchange their alternative realities.
This form of independence, which is not to say autonomy, the unprecedented liberty enforced by our times, in which diachronicity is replaced by synchronicity, succession by simultaneity and ‘History’ by the ever-present moment, along with the price we pay to possess it, together constitute a wager: how to remain dangerous, transitive, actively transgressive, hallucinogenic.

Το intothepill δεν είναι ο τόπος μια συλλογικότητας αλλά μία απόπειρα συνεύρεσης που δονείται ασταμάτητα από την αμφιβολία, το μόνο ασφαλές καταφύγιο για την ποιητική πράξη.
Όσοι είναι μέσα στο χάπι εκπέμπουν τα ακατάληπτα σήματά τους, καθένας στην «δική»του γλώσσα και κάποτε συναντιούνται, συζητούν μεταφράζουν και ανταλλάσουν τις εναλλακτικές τους πραγματικότητές.
Αυτή η μορφη ανεξαρτησίας, που δεν σημαίνει απαραίτητα αυτονομία, η άνευ προηγουμένου ελευθερία που η εποχή μας επιβαλει και μέσα στην οποία η συγχρονικότητα αντικαθιστα την διαχρονικότητα, η συνύπαρξη την διαδοχή και το αέναο παρόν την «Ιστορία», καθώς και το τιμημα που πληρώνουμε γι αυτήν, συγκροτεί ένα στοιχημα: πως να παραμείνουμε επικίνδυνοι,
επιδραστικοί, δραστήριοι αντιδραστικοί παραισθησιογόνοι.
